I have found a hidden space,
somewhere between heaven
and earth,
where no one surrounds me.

There is much to see and hear and smell.

I see colors and clovers.

I hear birdsongs and
oiled wings flicking the water.

The scent of sweet
wild onion
will soon be wafting in the air.

This, my blue isle...

Cane River is a beautiful riverlake winding through Natchitoches Parish, in north central Louisiana.  The native Louisiana Iris bloom in yellows and blues all along the riverbank in the spring.  There are many turtles and frogs and waterfowl, such as ducks and herons.

Today, Cane River is still quite a natural habitat, and the landscape is so lovely that it seems as if you have stepped right into a painting.  You must see for yourself.  As time goes on, there will be new photographic views of Cane River on this web page, so please come and visit again.
